Quoting Engineer

Role:   This position will review and analyze customer schematics, assembly drawings, samples and bills of materials to determine best assembly and cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong communication lines between Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Customer Service, Management, and Production.
  • Review new customer projects for manufacturability.
  • Review new customer projects for cost savings (e.g. material crosses or equivalents and labor reductions).
  • Review and analyze customer schematics, assembly drawings, samples, and bills of materials to determine best assembly and cost efficiencies.
  • Complete quotes for complex new projects including estimates for materials, tooling, and labor.
  • Coordinate with engineering and purchasing to develop assembly cost roll-up.
  • Prepare final pricing and send quote/pricing to customers.
  • Support UL compliance audits.
  • Comply with IPC standards.
  • Support Project & Process Engineering as required.
  • Support production as required.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience in lean manufacturing.
  • Previous experience quoting/estimating in a manufacturing environmentpreferred.
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and five to seven years of cable assembly/wire harness experience required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
